Retailers receive bumper Christmas sales with the right POS displays
Point-of-Sale (POS) displays can increase sales by up to 300 per cent according to research from Displaysense - the leading retail display company.

HERTFORDSHIRE, UK December 10, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ -- To prove the importance of a carefully thought-out POS display, the organisation carried out some research with selected stores in November - with striking results.

Half of the stores selected for the experiment were provided with POS displays from Displaysense, while the others were left to their own devices.

At the end of the test period, those using POS displays from Displaysense recorded a sales increase of up to 300 per cent compared to the stores that didn't receive any direction on promoting their goods.

Steve Whittle, marketing director at Displaysense, commented: "Many consumers do not know what they are going to buy for Christmas and our research has proved that the use of effective POS displays can convert browsing customers into paying customers.

"We've also learnt that POS displays can play a key role in up selling by encouraging customers to buy extra products, boosting sales for retailers even further."

He added that tests such as this not only demonstrate the value of well designed POS displays to retailers, but also the added value of choosing the right supplier who has the retailers' interests at heart.

In fact, Displaysense has found that many retailers are looking for advice about how best to arrange their store and show off their products, with the company receiving hundreds of calls each day from customers who want to improve the appearance of their outlets.

In response to the thousands of calls we receive every year from customers asking for help, we are looking at providing regular advice to retailers about how to improve their stores in the form of a newsletter," Mr Whittle explained.
