Beckwith served valiantly as a Lieutenant in the United States Navy during WW II earning a number of military honors. He also earned a Bachelor's Degree from the University of Southern California.

Robert's business has been a winner of the Office of the Year Award from the Chamber of Commerce. He is Rotarian with 58 years of perfect attendance. Beckwith is also a member of the Office Furniture Association and in excellent standing with the Better Business Bureau.
