Work 'N Gear Named Top Innovator of 2011 by Apparel Magazine
Apparel Magazine's fourth annual special issue names Work 'N Gear one of 39 companies to receive the magazine's Top Innovators of 2011 award.

QUNICY, MA, May 25, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Apparel Magazine's fourth annual special issue names Work 'N Gear one of 39 companies to receive the magazine's Top Innovators of 2011 award. The technology and business industry magazine dubs Top Innovators those companies that utilize new services and technologies to deliver product to customers in more efficient and more cost-effective ways. In addition to Work 'N Gear, other Top Innovators include nationwide brands like Columbia Sportswear and Abercrombie & Fitch, and high-end e-commerce outfits such as Gilt Group.

Based in Quincy, MA and headed by retail veteran Anthony DiPaolo, Work 'N Gear is the largest U.S. retailer specializing in apparel and footwear for the industry and healthcare spaces. The company has 43 retail stores across the Northeast and Midwest, and is on track to expand with additional stores in the near future. The most exciting development on the company's horizon is its new partnership with big box powerhouses Sears and Kmart. Together, Work 'N Gear and Sears/Kmart have launched Scrubology, a store-in-store (SIS) business model that offers Sears and Kmart customers Work 'N Gear's line of brand name, high end apparel and footwear for medical professionals, including doctors, nurses and home aides.

The SIS concept allows Work 'N Gear to reach its target customers in the stores they already shop in, streamlining the shopping experience and offering customers the benefit of Sears and Kmart promotions. Ten pilot SIS Scrubology sites are currently in operation, staffed part-time by Work 'N Gear employees. The company's eye for cost-effective customer service can also be seen in plans for the upcoming launch of Scrubologyshop.com, an online arm of the SIS Scrubology stores tailored to the busy schedules of in-demand medical professionals.
