Susie Pace a Bayside Jewelry featured artist works extensively with dichroic glass in her jewelry design. The distinguishing feature of dichroic glass is that it has a transmitted color and a completely different reflected color, based on the wavelengths of light that pass through it or are reflected off of it. Dichroic glass displays a myriad of colors, which presents the customer with an absolutely one of a kind piece. Influenced by the aesthetic beauty of the Northwest landscape she calls home, Susie finds all of her inspiration for her jewelry collection in nature.
Mary Gayle Young is a Bayside Jewelry artistic team member and has participated in jewelry design for over thirty years, and she brings that experience into her world of fashion and accessories. A key element to Mary Gayle's work is her usage of recycled materials that are featured in her eco-designed earrings, pendants, and necklaces. Using aged metal found at a neighborhood deconstruction site, she cuts the metal into various sized shapes and assembles them into intricate pieces. In her metal designs Mary Gayle also weaves in broken pieces of colorful bottles, which when tumbled in a rock polisher make stunning pendants.
