Simply the Best - Local Bolton & Rawtenstall Company Wins National Award.
Bolton & Rawtenstall based Simply Electricals fought off several other companies to be crowned the Best Independent Retailer in the Best Small Independent Consumer Electronics & Domestic Appliances category.

BOLTON, ENGLAND, August 04, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Two years ago, with the country in the midst of a recession, Bolton businessman Michael Gilmore had ideas about starting up his own company and a clear vision of what he wanted to achieve. Within twelve months, Michael's company Simply Electricals had been nominated for the Bolton and Bury Business Awards where they were highly commended in the best start up business category.

Now, another year on, Michael and his Simply team have gone a step further and taken a prestigious national award at the Independent Business Awards in Birmingham.

Michael told the Bury Times,"We were delighted to to be highly commended by the Bolton and Bury judges but to now win a national prize, especially after only trading for two years, is amazing."

Simply Electricals fought off several other companies to be crowned the Best Independent Retailer in the Best Small Independent Consumer Electronics & Domestic Appliances category.

Michael added,"We also entered the local business awards again this year and were disappointed not to be nominated for the second year running. However, this award has more than compensated for that!"

In early 2009, with many years experience in marketing and a strong IT background, Michael set up his Simply Electricals brand, rapidly building up a thriving online presence selling a whole host of electrical products and soon decided to expand by opening a retail store. The company went into partnership with Swifts, a long-standing electrical retailer and opened as Simply Electricals at their outlet at Halliwell Road, Bolton selling all types of electricals from LED and plasma televisions to household domestic appliances.

Michael has since decided on more expansion for the company and plans to open up two new branches in Rawtenstall and Accrington later this year.
