Lois Margaret Dominique Reinvigorates her Career with Jalo's Re-New
Lois Dominique named a Professional of the Year in Retail Management by Cambridge Who's Who

NEWTON, MA, August 30, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Lois M. Dominique, Owner of Jalo's Re-New, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Retail Management. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members in each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, academic achievements, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.

Ms. Dominique's success as an entrepreneur came quite literally by accident. A nurse by trade, she was injured on the job and was compelled to steer her career in a new direction. Driven by determination and a positive attitude, she recently opened a thrift store: Jalo's Re-New. Her shop features a wide array of new, vintage, gently used household items, gifts, clothing, furniture and accessories. It also features local artists and offers craft and jewelry-making classes monthly.

What makes Jalo's Re-New unique, however, is that Ms. Dominique donates a portion of her proceeds to the Northeast Animal Shelter, a no-kill shelter that has provided homes for more than 100,000 pets. She accepts tax-deductible donations of clothing, small furniture, and other items in good condition, and also offers to recycle items such as batteries, eyeglasses, and cell phones. In the years to come, Ms. Dominique hopes to open a second store dedicated solely to furniture.
