Patrisia A. Rawlins Recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for Excellence in Jewelry Design and Sales
Patrisia Rawlins started her jewelry-making career to raise funds for "care packages" for U.S. troops during the Vietnam War
MOUNT VERNON, WA, August 11, 2011 /24-7PressRelease/ -- Patrisia A. Rawlins, President and CEO of Starlight Wearable Art, LLC, has been named a Cambridge Who's Who Professional of the Year in Jewelry Design and Sales. While inclusion in the Cambridge Who's Who Registry is an honor, only a small selection of members of each discipline are chosen for this distinction. These special honorees are distinguished based on their professional accomplishments, leadership abilities, years of service, and the credentials they have provided in association with their Cambridge Who's Who membership.
Ms. Rawlins' ties to her profession began in the 1960s. She and her mother raised money for "care packages" for U.S. troops fighting in Vietnam by making and selling jewelry. Five decades later, she helms a more joyous enterprise in Starlight Wearable Art, LLC, an Internet retail company through which she markets her original jewelry, embellished clothing and accessories, and custom-made pieces. She established the company in 2007, after working as a medical transcriptionist for 15 years and as a paralegal for the United States Department of Defense for five. She has had several successful businesses, including "Inky Dew--Printer Ribbon Recyclers" in the 1990s, and she co-owns an architecture firm with her husband in which she serves as CFO. During tax season, Patrisia works for her local H&R Block office as an income tax professional. She attributes her success to honesty and perseverance.
A Certified Medical Transcriptionist and notary public, Ms. Rawlins also holds an associate degree in computer information technology. She maintains affiliations with the Northwest Bead Society, the Skagit Rock and Gem Club, the National Association of Tax Professionals, and several environmental and animal welfare organizations. She is a former member of Soroptimist International, the American Businesswomen's Association, and has served on numerous local citizens' committees. She retired as a 25-year member of the Daughters of Penelope, a philanthropic and educational organization, and has been honored as Past President, Past District Governor, and District Penelope of the Year. She is a lay minister in St. Stephen's Ministry for people in crisis.
